LOCAL ATHLETE TO SIGN LETTER OF INTENT

On Friday, February 22, 2008, Kristin Haddad, College Heights Christian School Senior, will sign a letter of intent to play Softball at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas. Coffeyville is a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference and National Junior College Athletics Association.

Haddad has started and lettered in varsity softball for three years. Her Junior year she was named to the first team All - District and 2nd team All - Region. Her Senior year she made 1st team All - District and 1st team All - Region. Haddad will be receiving a full ride scholarship to play softball at CCC where she plans to become an athletic trainer.

Coach John Blankenship commented, “Kristin has been so instrumental in helping our softball program develop into a very competitive program in only 3 years. She played shortstop, center field and even pitched for us this year. She batted .455 and had a .655 slugging percentage. She was also 20 for 20 in stolen bases. I have had the privilege to coach her in both softball and basketball. She has excelled in both sports and could have had her choice to play either sport in college. In my 3 years of coaching softball and 11 years of coaching basketball, she has put in as much work outside of practice time as anyone I have coached. She is very coachable and is willing to pay the price to get better. We will miss her very much. I know she will be a tremendous asset to the Coffeyville softball program.”

She is the daughter of Brenda Haddad of Joplin.
