CHCS Press Releases

The College Heights Christian School High School Drama Department’s
play production this year is 30 Reasons NOT to be in a Play by Alan
Haehnel. Stage kisses, pinkeye, inciting World War III--these are
just a few of the many things that can go wrong during production of
a play. From the author of last year's Stressed! comes a full
evening warning all innocent bystanders of the many reasons to avoid
contracting this scourge called drama. Please join us at 7:30 pm
April 10th – 12th.
They will also be performing the district winning Readers Theatre
All the Bases in preparation for competing at State as a bonus
feature before the show. All the Bases, also written by Alan Haehnel,
is a one act play about the frustrations of trying to produce
theatre that meets everyone's expectations. In an effort to create
the perfect production, the cast begins by reading the "survey
results" they got from the audience in response to the question,
"What do you want from a school play?" Based on these responses the
cast presents a play meeting all 15 audience requirements. The
result is their "short, cheap, educational, safe, non-schedule
interfering, colorfully costumed, interestingly set, photogenic,
Shakespearean, self-esteem building, combative, musical,
repartee-filled, stars your precious child, contains no scratching
or picking of the embarrassing variety....show!"
The show runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 10th, 11th &
12th at 7:30 pm each night in the Atrium on campus at 4311 E. Newman
Road. Tickets can be reserved by emailing drama@collegeheights.org
