P R E S S   R E L E A S E 

The College Heights Christian School High School choir will present 'On Broadway!' on Sunday, February 22nd at Corley Auditorium in Webster Auditorium on the Missouri Southern State University campus.    Please join us at 3:00 pm for a show stopping performance.   

They will be performing selections from Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, Showboat, Mama Mia!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Flower Drum Song, and many more.    Glenda Austin and Melissa Belk art the vocal directors and the event is free and open to the public on Sunday, February 22nd at 3:00 pm.    

College Heights Christian School was started in 1978 with approximately 80 students.  Today, CHCS has grown to nearly 600 students per year, set in a 140,000 square foot facility that includes 41 classrooms, representing 90 different churches in the 4-State area with nearly 700 total graduates over the past 30 years. Both elementary and secondary programs are accredited by North Central Association (NCA).  CHCS participates in MSHSAA Athletics, Academics and Fine Arts.

Spelling Bee Champion Announced

Our spelling bee was held Friday, January 23, as a part of the 31st Joplin Globe Spelling Bee. Our school champion, fifth grader DEVON RUSSELL will participate at the annual bee on Wednesday, March 18th, 2009, at Taylor Auditorium on the campus of Missouri Southern State University at 8:30 am.


Class participants who advanced to our finals Friday were:
Fourth Graders - Bryce LePage, Jonathan Johnson, Dawsen Worthington, Mattie Beard, Ty Loudon-Wiese, and Dylan Zarrabi.

Fifth Graders - Rylee Beck, Carmen Creswell, Noah Dickinson - 2nd place,

Matthew Estep, Erika Larkin, and Devon Russell - School Champion.

Sixth Graders - Abby Mansley, Rachel Laws, Ming-Ming Hsieh, Halie Whitehill, Daniel Calandro and Annie Ashwell
